Are There Exercise Classifications that Build Muscle Fast?

It is a necessity to exercise if you want to build muscle fast. Without exercising, no tissues will break and recover to develop stronger and shapelier muscles. Therefore, it is vital that you design an exercise program that will help you attain the goal.

When designing an exercise program for building muscles, one very important thing is to break the exercises according to their categories. Of course, the way to do this is identify the exercise according to the muscles that they focus on. However, since there are a lot of exercise movements, the easier way to classify is by organizing them into broader categories first.

Basically, there are two major classifications of muscle exercises: isolation and compound. The former are exercises that involve a single moving joint at a certain time. For example, a bicep curl. It only requires the joint in the elbow to move. Other examples under isolation movements are shoulder raises, triceps pushdowns, and leg extensions.

Now, moving on to the compound exercises. As the term suggests, it requires a compound or group of joints to move during an exercise. Popular movements under this classification are squats, pull-ups, and bench press.

Both of these classification exercises have their own pros and cons. For those who have never engaged in a routine to build muscle fast, it is recommended that almost all of the exercises in his or her routine should be compound in nature. Then, as you go on, you can start incorporating one isolation movement after another.

Now, you may be wondering why this is so. Aren t compound muscle exercises a lot harder for a starter? Well, exactly! And that s the way for you to build muscle quickly. These compound movements have the higher potential to help you in packing on muscles. They also significantly improve your strength because they make use of multiple joints and muscles. Needless to say, the more muscles you involve in an exercise, the more muscles you develop. The more muscles you develop, the heavier weights you can lift. The heavier weights you can lift, the bigger muscles you can have. That s the simple math.

Now, having said that compound exercises are great for muscle building, it is not right for you to just forget about isolation exercises though. They have a role to play in muscle building too. You see, usually, due to some genetic differences (if not technique differences), compound movements favor a muscle group more than the other. For instance, bench press is commonly thought of as an exercise for the chest. However, many individuals realize that their shoulders and triceps grow a lot faster than their chest after having done this exercise a lot of times. For the growth to be proportionate, these people would have to do other exercises that will concentrate on the area where the muscles need to develop more. Like the cited case, the chest.

In conclusion, exercise is an absolute requirement in order to build muscle fast. May it be compound or isolation, all movements under these two categories are a must to grow a muscular body.
