The Great Galaxy S2 From Samsung Complete With One Of The Fastest Processors Available

Of the mobile phone handsets released over the past two years, one of the runaway success stories was the Samsung Galaxy S. The key to the popularity of this phone was the perfect balance that was achieved between design, features and functionality. Now several months down the line, and after much speculation, Samsung are about to launch the follow up handset, the eagerly awaited S2. Thanks to the original phone being well ahead of its time, there is little the manufacturers can do to radically change the look or features on the phone, however they have managed to squeeze in a dual core processor, which effectively turn a great user experience into an unrivalled one.

Back in Septemeber 2010, Samsung signalled there intentions by stating that there forthcoming processors have up to five times the graphics performance over previous versions and that the new chip was unlikely to be seen before 2011. Thus it seems logical that the brand hold the launch of the chip back to coincide with the release of the successor to their most popular ever handset. So what exactly does Dual Core offer the consumer. Well in terms of features, the answer is very little, the effects of this extra power relate much more to performance and the overall speed at which the phone operates. The chip itself that is used is based on quad GPU. This term relates to specialist graphics processors that were developed for gaming by enabling the uses of a single graphics card that contained multiple cores, with the result being a faster and higher quality end experience. The transition of this technology to a mobile handset is not to far fetched given many phones incorporate graphics accelerators and all phones use a screen of some form.

So lets look at the actual performance side of the Samsung Galaxy S2, after all this is ultimately how the phones chipset will be judged. The 1Ghz dual core processor has many benefits for users of the handset. In terms of everyday use, the user interface will appear smoother than ever as, with scrolling through the multiple homescreens that the Android OS offers, simple and instant. Perhaps the most obvious advantage of the system is that it makes multi tasking better than ever, enabling the separate cores of the processor to be doing entirely different tasks, reducing the risk of lag and generally not impairing the overall speed. Other areas also benefit from this feature, gamers will appreciate the extra boost graphics receive and those who like to view material from sites such as Youtube will the see the difference with the high speed streaming, reducing buffer times that can be so annoying.

The Galaxy S2 from Samsung really does offer a complete experience. The phone is a joy to use, and makes many supposedly high specification smartphones look somewhat inadequate.
