Gold Coast Accommodation - Try Coolangatta
|
Coolangatta is suburb located at the southern end of the city of the Gold Coast. Coolangatta has been growing in popularity as it offers a more relaxed beach holiday experience than the well known Surfers Paradise and surrounding suburbs.
The area now features new retail shopping and accommodation developments along the esplanade, bringing new life into the suburb. But what really makes the place a favored holiday destination for people in the know is due to the lower cost of daily needs and lower accommodation costs.
Much of the accommodation buildings in Coolangatta are located close to the beach offering a view of the amazing expanse of ocean, the surf and the wide long sandy beach that the Gold Coast region is famous for.
The beaches are not as hectic as Surfers Paradise, although they are still patrolled by lifesavers, and many would recommend this area offers the best of all surfing hot spots on the Gold Coast.
Some of the accommodation constructions in the area are low rise apartment buildings that were built back in the 70's, 80's and 90's, although regardless of their age they are still kept in great order. There are select amount of hi-rise accommodation buildings along the Coolangatta beach front with many being quite new.
Regardless of where you choose, you wont be to far away from the beach, or the main area as the suburb isnt that big. Choosing accommodation in the suburb will mainly depend on your budget and your needs.
If you want to be really close to the best surfing spots many people like to settle near the area known as Rainbow Bay from which you can easily walk to Snapper Rocks, Durnabah and Point Danger.
The suburb of Coolangatta is located close to the Gold Coast Airport and is about 30 minutes drive to Surfers Paradise. Getting to the theme parks is no hassle as there are many shuttle services and public transport aplenty.
As for scouting out the best specials it's worth noting that there are many discount accommodation aggregators all providing offers well below the regular rack rates. And it's worth checking all of them, as some times one aggregator may have negotiated a special rate with the particular hotel or apartment that you are keen on. |
