If that Facebook profile goes to a website that's set up properly, you'll look much more professional and people will trust you more. Never forget that social networking is a tool that you can use to help you build your business. You should never only do business on it. Also, avoid links that connect your social network profiles to each other. It's best to use your website as a way to convey which networks you have profiles on. If you link one social network profile to another it just makes potential buyers feel like they are jumping through hoops.
When it comes to your networks, be a little selective. It is a fact that Facebook and Twitter can be used for any marketing campaign. Classmates.com, and sites like it, aren't really made for marketing. It's best to only spend your valuable time on networks that will actually work for you.
