Oil Paintings and Their Aesthetic Beauty

The value of oil paintings transcends even in the normal lives of people. They provide aesthetic worth to your bedroom, dining room, living room, even to your workplaces. They have this refreshing feeling that evokes passion and enthusiasm whenever you feel weary and tired. No wonder packs of people everyday have been swarming the galleries of museum and art centers just to take a peek of the latest paintings available. Art lovers marvel at the gorgeous and smooth art images that seem to talk about thousands of unexpressed feelings - emotions that are imprisoned inside the glossy strokes of rich-colored works hanging on the walls.

Most people see oil paintings as a form of investment, and they are. Whether they are the most-prized collection of Leonardo da Vinci or from some obscure contemporary artists, they become priceless over time. As a matter of fact, its value transcends its monetary equivalent, let alone the beauty they offer to you and to the things around. That is why folks would really find time and money to invest on them, no matter how pricey, in the hope that someday their quality would appreciate.

When you talk about oil paintings, the first usual images that come out of your mind are the scenes during the renaissance period where these kinds of painting are attributed to have developed. Little is known that the first historical accounts of using oil in painting took place in Western Afghanistan at the height of the rise of Buddhism. But its origin aside, you know fully well, that oil-based artworks took a big leap in Florence, Italy during the later part of the Middle Ages in the 15th century. The art bug then acquired a strong hold in the hearts of most artists at the time until it spread throughout continental Europe and to the rest of the world.

Today, oil paintings are as valuable as they were back in the mists of time. With the use of more sophisticated supplies and elements, oil-based paintings are now becoming more rich, alive and glowing. True to its artistic beauty, even the advent of high-tech photographic gadgets that could reproduce nature's images in real time did not make these paintings irrelevant. This just shows how simplistic and original man's appreciation of beauty is. While photographs could account images realistically, they cannot simply capture the genuine beauty as expressed by the artist's magical hands.

This admiration will lead you to the idea of oil-based painting reproductions which have caught the attention of art and oil painting lovers . Whether it was the lost masterpiece of Rafael or the revolutionary cubist art of Pablo Picasso, everything can be reproduced, not with the use technology of course, but with the same assistance that placed great artists in the annals of art history - the artist's mysterious hands.

Whether you like it or not, oil paintings will always have a special place in the people's mind and heart. And no amount of scientific revolution can cast off the visual splendor of images that are the living wonders of the greatness of human mind, and of course, hands.
