Hair Loss Treatment

There are many different reasons that people begin to lose their hair and doing so can lead to embarrassment. Both women and man can suffer from baldness and hair loss. Surgery
Surgery is an option and some procedures may not be as expensive as you might imagine. As well as complete transplants, operations also exist to remove part of the scalp and stretch the remaining skin over those areas. The scalp that is removed is the area where hair growth has stopped so this is then effectively replaced with scalp that is still offering hair growth. However, surgery should be considered a last resort as there are a number of less invasive options that may prove equally effective and less troublesome.
Propecia
Propecia is a prescription medication that is taken daily and attacks the levels of dihydratestosterone in the body. This is responsible for attacking hair follicles and typically results in follicles that are incapable of supporting hair growth. Not only can Propecia effectively stop hair loss but it can, in some instances, help lost hair to start growing once again. It has proven a very effective hair loss treatment against male pattern baldness but this is the only cause of hair loss which Propecia will combat; it will not cure other illnesses or causes of hair loss.
Regaine Hair Loss Treatment
Regaine is an over the counter topical ointment that is applied twice a day to the scalp. It comes in two strengths and has proven to be effective in a good number of cases; it is typically more effective with men than women but it can prove messier than the Propecia course of tablets. Nevertheless, it is an effective form of hair loss treatment and may lead to a reversal of your hair loss in just one year. |
