The walk in bath

The able bodied very much take it for granted that they are able to climb into and out of the bath without any aids or assistance.

Many people however have difficulties accessing their bath and require specialised equipment in order to help make taking a bath possible. These might include those with disabilities, or who are elderly or have a debilitating illness.

Although showers with wide shower doors and wetrooms may be easier to access than a standard bath, many people prefer to have the option of a long, relaxing soak. In order to enjoy a bath, it may be necessary to have specialist apparatus installed in the bathroom to help make this possible.

Some of the easiest baths to access are the walk in bath options. These are baths with a swing door in the panel which allows a user to walk straight into the bath (though some options do have a small step). Once inside, it is always important to ensure that the door is shut properly and the user is sitting in the bath before the taps should be turned on. This bath door is fully sealed so there are no bath water leakages and so also reduces the risk of slippages and falls.

These types of bath can allow the bather to enter the bath tub unaided, thus allowing for a sense of security and independence.

At Bathroom2u we have an extensive range of independent baths which are designed with easy access in mind. These bath tubs are ideal for those who may have difficulties with the high sided panels of a bath and we can help ensure that absolutely anyone can enjoy their bathing experience. Alternatively we can also provide you with the equipment for the installation of accessible showers and wetrooms.
