Those seeking inspiration for men's gifts may want to consider jewellery as an option.
An article by Melanie Stone suggests that whereas it used to be mainly women who wore such items, trends are changing and male consumers are becoming more inclined to don some bling.
She said: "Now times have changed. Men have become more fashionable than before and consequently men's jewellery has also gained popularity."
According to the writer, one of the factors that has contributed to this is the fact that male celebrities are taking greater care over the way they look and many are wearing items such as necklaces.
Commenting on the types of products that may be suitable as gifts for men, she added: "The material and design of men's necklaces varies according to the choice. Generally, older people are interested in wearing sober necklaces compared to [the] younger generation of men.
"Men's necklaces can be made from different materials used in making jewellery, such as platinum, gold and silver."
Ms Stone went on to state that although men used to limit themselves to wearing only wrist watches - which may also be a good idea for men's gifts - now almost one in three male consumers can be seen wearing a "fancy necklace".
She added that during the recent World Cup that took place in South Africa, some football players were seen doing TV advertisements with such products around their necks - which has also contributed to their rising popularity.
After seeing their heroes on TV, many young boys made the decision to emulate them and buy jewellery to adorn themselves with, she claimed.
