Are You On Top Of Your Payroll?


In smaller companies, roles often intertwine and the accounting may be done by the manager or someone else of authority within the organisation. This can lead many companies to find themselves struggling to carry out certain duties when unforeseen issues arise. Jobs such as completing payroll can be delayed and the company can find themselves with inaccurate staff payments going out or even payments being heavily delayed. Not only does this end up seriously affecting the upper echelon of the company, but can also lead to some rather disgruntled members of staff.

One company I worked with had ended up so far behind with their payroll that they were simply paying the staff who asked for money and working out the amounts there and then. When it came to April the payroll had not been completed for many months and the amount of work that was required ended up almost crippling them.

For those without a dedicated HR Payroll department, or even those with dedicated HR Payroll staff who are struggling to keep on top of expanding companies or restructures, enlisting professional payroll companies will not only take the hassle out of payroll, but will also mean that you find the accuracy and efficiency of the payments is suddenly much higher. Using dedicated external payroll companies may seem like an added expense you don’t need but in reality the time it will be saving you will almost certainly pay for it, plus as changes in legislation arise you won’t have to worry about being caught out.

Ultimately you may well find that your operations become much smoother and that in the process your staff, and you, are much happier all around. Your risk will be reduced and you will find that next time unforeseen events spring up, the running of your company doesn’t have to be affected at all.
