Butlins Skegness is a great destination for a family holiday and is one of the few locations where there really is something on offer for all ages. One of the main problems for families of mixed ages is that it is very difficult to please everyone. This means that you end up rushing around trying to fit in lots of different activities. With Butlins Skegness there are lots of different facilities onsite and many of the children's activities are supervised. This means that everyone can find their own things to do and then meet up later in the day to catch up. This can be a wonderful way to spend a family holiday if you have younger and older family members and will ensure nobody is bored or fed up.
The Butlins Skegness resort is situated on the stunning Lincolnshire coastline and is just a short distance from a lovely sandy beach. This is great for a day out by the seaside and there are also family swimming pools onsite so you can enjoy the summer sun. The accommodation is designed along a lovely New England style and is modern, bright and airy.
Accommodation
There are self-catering chalet and caravan options available at Butlins Skegness which are ideal for families so that you do not have to eat out for every meal. There are two and three bedroom options and the self-catering accommodation offers private space for your stay with a kitchenette area (oven, hob, microwave and kettle), television, separate sleeping and living areas and bathroom (with shower). Onsite is a small supermarket so that you can easily get groceries and there is also a laundrette available. The Butlins Caravan Village is set in 100 acres of lovely landscaped gardens and is a spacious and peaceful area to stay.
Dining
There are plenty of dining options for when you want to eat out at Butlins Skegness. This includes:
" Papa Johns'- a great Italian restaurant with pizza, pasta and a salad bar
" Finnigan's Restaurant - family friendly dining with a varied menu (including vegetarian meals) and a fish and chip takeaway.
" Skyline Café - open all day (9am to 11pm) and serves a wide range of snacks and light meals including sandwiches, cakes, burgers and hot drinks.
" Costa Coffee - one of the biggest coffee shop chains in the business Costa can offer hot paninis, fresh cakes and a great range of hot and cold drinks.
" Skyline Pavilion Bar - a great place to relax over a cocktail or cold beer and is open until late.
Activities
There are lots of fun things to do for toddlers and these supervised activities allow parents to have some time to themselves. Kids will love the finger painting and dough making classes and the Mini Funfair with rides designed just for little ones. For older children there are adventure play areas and video games rooms and also street dancing classes that will teach moves in break dance and beat boxing. There is also a funfair, bowling and go-karting for older kids and teenagers. |
