Compelling Copywriting Tips For The Much less Than Advanced Writer

Copywriting, persuading readers with written words to buy your product or service, is almost as old as writing itself. When you do copywriting for the internet, however, you have to remember it's not quite the same as the offline world. Web surfers have shorter attention spans than other readers, so if you don't get their attention right away, you will lose them. Internet marketers depend quite a bit on having effective sales copy, so it's worthwhile to learn as much about copywriting as you can. In this article we will be looking into a few copywriting tips that will help you get the most out of your sales copy.

When you create sales copy to sell a product/service, it's you talking about the benefits to your prospect, one on one. If you want to maximize your conversions, and we know you do, then always offer some kind of proof for your claims. If at all possible, get testimonials for your product that are real and verifiable. Your readers will be full of doubts and suspicions to begin with, so you must build your case and establish trust. The FTC really loves for only unsolicited testimonials to be used, but you can ask for expert evaluations and customer feedback and possible use as a testimonial. Keep them short, up to 6 to 7 sentences, which talk about how the product was useful to this particular customer. In the case of an expert's review, naturally you need to let them read your ebook, or whatever your product is. A more powerful way to convince your prospects is to get audio or video testimonials, which are more believable.

Do all that is possible to alleviate risk from the buying process and trying to make your potential customer feel at ease. The most common method to do that is with an iron clad guarantee that removes the risk. One common trait for beginner marketers is they're nervous about the rip-off customer. However that is really not very common in most markets, and the increased sales you will get by having the guarantee make any risk worth it. You will discover that extremely few people will ever do that, plus if it does happen it is just business - dismiss it. Just make sure your guarantee is simple. Here's a cool one to use, make your guarantee period long... like a year, no kidding, and the effect it has is to almost eliminate refunds.

You can use humor, but be very careful about it. It's a subjective decision, but most professional copywriters do not go over the top with humor. There is a big difference between serious copy and stale copy - learn the difference.

The best copywriters really never stop learning about it, and even though many give it a shot and quit, that doesn't mean you have to be among their ranks. The best place to start is at the very beginning with the basic foundational principles, then you move on to more advanced material. The chances of you eventually being competent in it will be decided by decisions like that.
