Don’t forget your letter box when looking at business continuity

Business continuity planning rarely includes such aspects as how and where post can be delivered or collected from in the event of an incident which renders the usual post opening areas inaccessible.
One of the most critical objectives when thinking about business continuity is to work on strategies which will get your business back to operating as usual in the shortest time possible without compromising the security, the integrity or reputation of your business.
A business looking to maximise the space available in their existing premises rather than moving into larger units often end up with less spare space available for occupancy to, for example, accept incoming and outgoing post.
The all important IT kit, telephones and security of the building are of course always included in business continuity plans but all too often, it is those lesser things such as letter boxes and post opening services that are taken for granted. Yet such things are equally important and can cause a tremendous amount of logistical problems if not thought about beforehand.
