Honda To Recall Nearly 700,000 Vehicles Globally

Honda is to recall nearly 700,000 units of the Freed, Fit and City company models worldwide to fix a faulty spring that could cause the engine to fail to restart in the worst-case scenario.
According to a Honda spokeswoman, no accidents have been reported from the defect.
Of the total, Honda is recalling about 167,000 Freed and Fit cars in Japan, where it estimates the cost to be around $39 million US dollars.
The rest are mainly in Asia, including China.
Honda became Japan's No. 3 car manufacturer in terms of global retail sales after it was overtaken by Nissan earlier this year.
