NPC Deputy Seeks Suggestions on Bill via Microblog
|
Since Li Dongsheng, a deputy to the Fourth Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC), seeks suggestions from netizens for his bill through microblog one week ago, another 60,000 people have followed it, the New Express Daily reports.
Li said last Friday on t.sina.com, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, "As a NPC deputy, I'll bring bills about people's livelihood improvement to the upcoming NPC meetings in March and I'd like to hear your voices through the platform of microblogging."
As the first NPC deputy to collect bills on microblog, Li's microblog has received a big welcome from netizens. Their proposals focus on livelihood issues such as house price, personal income tax, education and medical health, all concerned for the immediate interests of the disadvantaged.
Li, also the Board Chairman of TCL Corporation, a consumer electronics group, told the New Express Daily that the microblog users' enthusiasm went beyond his imagination.
"But it proves my original idea that more public opinions could be heard through the new web trend. I will pay more attention on each suggestion provided by microblog users," Li added.
