Tips For Results Yielding List Building

There are plenty of ways to build an e-mail list but it is important that you find the right way. Given below are a few effective tips that you can apply to enhance your mailing list and take it to the next level.

The best and simplest way for a person to grow his e-mail list is to make it as easy as possible for people to sign up for it. It might sound too easy, but cutting down on unnecessary questions or steps does make the sign up process more successful. There are many new Internet marketers who think the more information they get out of their prospect when signing up, the better they'll be able to serve them. That is not usually the case. The truth is that, to put someone on a subscriber list, all you need is an e-mail address; sometimes even a name is unnecessary! Of course, because people are more likely to read e-mails that have been personalized, adding a spot on the form for a first name is a good idea. That's just about it. Getting the rest of the information that you want can be done after the person has opted in to your list. After all, once someone has subscribed to your list you will have all the time in the world to gather more information about them. To avoid future questions it is a good idea to send new subscribers a link to your privacy policy when they opt in to your list. As you can see, details like phone numbers and postal addresses aren't really necessary, unless you plan on sending something out when someone opts in to your list. For the most part, you will probably only be sending them a link to a downloadable product or your latest newsletter so you only need to obtain their basic internet contact information.

Okay, your subscribers have the potential to help you grow your email list. Word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising so you need to encourage the people on your list to bring in new subscribers. Give your list permission to e-mail your work to their colleagues and friends so they will know how awesome you are. Build a "refer a friend" form for your site and ask your subscribers to send out the link for it.

Besides that, when your subscribers find that the quality of your content is worth sharing, they will want to pass it on the others. All of these methods can give you results that you will want to see.

Here is a tip for list building that others won't share with you: leverage your blog for your list. Blogging is a great way to communicate and to pass on specific messages to prospective subscribers and customers. When used with e-mail marketing you can really create a nice synergy. Make sure you have your opt-in box on each of your blog post. If you don't want to go the paid way, then you can simply start a free blog at WordPress or Blogger.com. Another tip that involves blogs is to go and post on other blogs. Link to your squeeze page through targeted and relevant comments that you leave on other blogs in your niche. You should also make sure to use trackbacks as a commenting mechanism on other blogs. Typically your comments will be posted on the website and include a link back to your page. This is an easy way to increase your site's popularity while simultaneously building your list. All in all, the above tips clearly explain the effectiveness of using various methods to build your email list.
