So you're off to the London for the weekend? Lucky you! It's an amazing city. One of if not the most amazing in the entire world. A fusion of the contemporary and achingly hip with incredible history and tradition. I guess that's what makes it such a draw. There really is something for everyone in this city.
So you've sorted your flights or your train tickets, but what about your accommodation? Looking for good London hotels can be a bit of a challenge. It's a huge city and if you don't know it well you could end up staying miles away from where you really want to be. Hotels in London range from the budget and generic chain hotels through to quirky boutique and luxury ones. From youth hostels to the luxury complexes on Park Lane, the city has everything.
When deciding on London hotels do a little research first. If you're heading in for a weekend, you'll get discount deals at business orientated places, but the financial districts will be empty and a bit lifeless. Plus they aren't really in great places for all the main attractions. Don't stay too far out either. The city quickly becomes endless suburbs the further out you go. If your budget will allow, stay somewhere more central for a real flavour of the city proper.
Hotels in London in some instances have a fairly shoddy reputation. They can be cramped and overpriced. The result of too much easy passing custom. At least in this day and age you can check the Internet for customer reviews and feedback so you can choose one of the better hotels. So don't take any chances. Stay down town and do some research into what other travellers have to say about the establishment. And don't forget to have a great trip. I'm sure you'll have an incredible time whether you want to hit the bars and clubs or soak up the culture in the museums and galleries. |
