The dressing gown or a housecoat also known as bathrobes are a loose, open-fronted gown and closed with a fabric belt. Bathrobes are generally indoor garments. They are available in multitude of fabrics.

It is worn after a swim or a bath usually. Other times it is used in the house when half dressed by both men and women. It is worn after a bath and before getting dressed. The Bathrobe is worn for many purposes but probably the main reason people enjoy them is the sense of comfort and warmth it offers the moment you slip it on.

The different types of fabrics that are used for making Bathrobes are cotton, silk, microfiber, wool, and nylon. In this different kind of fabric you will find Bathrobes in different types of weaves like flannel, terry, velour, and waffle. The collars are the only style that changes in a Bathrobe after the fabric and weave; basically it’s a knee length gown with an open front and to be closed with a fabric belt. The different patterns of collars that you will find in the Bathrobe are shawl collar, Kimono, and hooded.

Bathrobe should be selected based on its use for example if you are going to go out on a beach then you can select a Bathrobe made of cotton fabric with a hooded collar and it can have lots of printed designs if you like to make it more colorful on a holiday. If you are planning to buy a Bathrobe for using after bath then you need to go for Bathrobes made of cotton or microfiber fabrics as these two fabrics that are good water absorbent materials. You can go for a hooded collar or a normal shawl collar or a kimono collar it really depends on your taste regarding the collar and the availability of collar design that you want in the Bathrobes that you plan to buy to use after bath .

The woolen Bathrobes are usually picked for nightwear as it keeps one warm and cozy during the chills in the night. The nylon fabric best suits to be worn in the house during the day. In the nylon fabric you can get lot of wonderful prints and color combination that you can choose from.
