There’s nothing particularly romantic or even all that engaging about white goods like washing machines or washer dryers. However, the difference between a good one and a bad one is easily noticeable. A washer dryer needs to offer the features that you use most in both devices and it also needs to be simple to use despite offering the features of two white goods. Small Capacity
The capacity of washer dryers is important. If you live alone and only do the washing for one person then this means that you only need a washing machine with a small capacity. A large capacity washing machine typically uses more energy and takes longer to complete cycle and this can prove uneconomical unless you need a large washing machine.
Large Capacity
In contrast, if you do the washing for a family then you may need to look for a larger capacity in your wash dryer just to make sure that it will be able to cope with the weekly load as well as you will be able to. This means you won’t have to do multiple washes so saves you some time and effort too.
Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is a big thing for most domestic appliances but especially for washer dryers. As well as ensuring that you buy a machine with the appropriate load capacity you should also look at the energy rating. Washer dryers sold in the EU must offer an energy rating of between A and G with A being the most energy efficient and G the least efficient.

As well as looking at the capacity and the energy rating you should consider whether you really need a combined washer dryer or whether you would in fact be better off with two single appliances.
