What are my Roulette Odds?

Roulette may be a game of pure chance at first glance, and as such the players participating are faced with unfavorable odds. Many could simply look away finding the game a waste of time and precious money because the payouts to bets made aren't really that great, or the odds just aren't good. Of course, betting on a single number and getting odds of 37 to 1 isn't cause for much fanfare. Even payouts for combination bets might not be so attractive.

On second thought, are the odds really that unfavorable? Let's be realistic, online roulette, like its real life counterpart, is a game of chance. Also, it's handy to know there's a constant 5.26% or 2.63% house edge that doesn't change even if you use betting systems. And because of this, the game is one of the hardest to beat in any casino. Of course, implementing tactics and strategies to improve your chances and making use of smart money management can help alleviate the house advantage.

You can increase your odds by using proper and correct techniques and strategies in roulette games, just like in any other casino game. But before that, you might want to completely take in all of the basics-this would be a great help. You can affect your odds in winning in a spin of the carousel by making as many different bets as suits you. Of course, this is done keeping within the table's bet limits. The more bets you place, the more complicated and the more multifaceted the odds become. It can be confusing to follow what happens, but to put it simply: play and bet to the minimum of the table limits. Outside bets are best as they pay out 1 to 1. Outside bets cover 18 of the 38 probable combinations, thus making outside bets increases your chances. Try betting equal amounts on two different outside bets to further modify the odds to your favor. To do so, put a wager on a slot for a dozen. Like the 1st dozen, or a column say for instance column 3, and the other on an even-money. Spreading bets in this manner of course doesn't guarantee a sure full win, but you won't want to miss out on the excitement it brings.

And then there's the simple rule of thumb to play on a more advantageous table-on the 2.63% house advantage table, namely, the European table. This difference in house edge is brought about by the lack of a double zero slot in a European table, making the total slots 37: a zero slot plus the usual 1 through 36.

Also, play en prison in online roulette games, if possible. Sometimes this is made available on European tables. This rule further minimizes the house advantage to a considerable 1.35%. You get even money on en prison when the ball halts at 0. If on the subsequent spin it rests on a black, you take back your original bet without other payouts. Otherwise (red), you lose your bet. Another 0 outcome would mean your money stays in prison.
