Cold Winters, Global Warming and 2012 Predictions

For the second straight year the Northern Hemisphere is experiencing unseasonably cold winters. Deaths are being blamed on the bitter subfreezing temperatures, and meanwhile, scientists are attempting to explain why the freeze is occurring. Climate scientists are suggesting that the cold winters, characterized by an influx of freezing Arctic air, are paradoxically related to global warming. How is this possible?
As warmer Arctic winters and resultant melting ice masses continue in the north, larger portions of land and sea areas surrounding the Arctic are losing their snow and ice cover for longer periods of time. While white snow and ice reflect sunlight and bounce the warming rays back into outer space, the blue sea absorbs the Sun's rays. This causes more heat to be trapped in the Arctic area and increases the rate of global warming. The warmer Arctic air rises into the cold polar atmosphere causing the formation of a high pressure front, which causes the Arctic air to circulate. This circulation is responsible for pushing Arctic air down into the Northern Hemisphere during the winter months. And this is what is giving rise to the unseasonably cold winters.
While scientists originally described the cold weather as the outcome of a recurring Arctic cycle that results in occasional frigid winters, the current explanation would suggest that we can expect more of these unseasonably cold winters on a regular basis. Global warming is not about to go away, and it is likely, therefore, that warm Arctic air will continual to rise into the polar atmosphere causing continued Arctic air to ingress into the Northern Hemisphere in future winters.
The sudden onslaught of these unexpected bitterly cold winters makes one think of the 2012 predictions of doom, which are related to the end of the Mayan long count calendar. Great Sun, author of the Viking release "Super Life Secret Codes," was one writer who has suggested that at least in part, the 2012 prophecies of doom relate to events that result from the wrongdoings of mankind and not necessarily some untoward event that will occur in outer space and subsequently impinge on the Earth. If we consider the additional possibility that 2012 predictions may not be just about the day Dec. 21, 2012 but about the era that will follow it then certainly global warming is a scientifically understandable phenomena that will potentially causing significant harm to the Earth and is temporally related to the year 2012 and beyond.
The sudden and recent paradoxical weather shifts point out the potential for great and unpredictable harm that might come to the Earth as a result of global warming. While scientists can, in retrospect, begin to explain what is causing the unseasonably cold winters, few if any were heard to predict their occurrence ahead of time. The unexpected cold spells, point out the unpredictability of nature's response to man's abuse of the Eco-system. If most scientists were caught by surprise by the paradoxical chilly weather, what other surprises does Mother Nature have up her sleeve?
The current cold snap is just one more wake up call to humanity to stop the reckless path of destruction of the Eco-spheres.
