The I Ching is most probably one of China's oldest texts on prophecies. As it is widely known as the Book of Changes the readings that come forth also depicts the changes that may also happen. It was initially discovered and developed by ancient men of wisdom and it has become one of the most sought after methods to improve one's quality of life. This method of divination started during the rule of the Han dynasty. They ruled for about four centuries and was China's second imperial dynasty.
The period is commonly referred to as China's golden age as it was a time of excessive prosperity and growth. A censored version of the Book was eventually circulated by Western Han and as time progressed many changes and additions were made and it is now thought to be a collection of divination concepts.
In today's world of chaos and confusion many are looking towards ancient customs that may help them make informant decisions that may benefit their lives. As this system has been around for more than 5000 years there are literally millions of people that swear by its wisdom and accuracy.
The ultimate objective of I Ching is to give an honest opinion about your own current condition and a warning of what will evolve if heed is not taken. One must also be willing to accept the information and act upon it. The readings are specifically aimed at your inner well being that will secure lasting peace and happiness.
This is precisely how the story of life works; nothing comes easy and striving for it in a proper and honest way will bring about a good result. The I Ching consists of 64 hexagonal shapes where each individual one depicts an archetypal state of affairs.Three coins are tossed all at once to make up a trigram. Each side of the coin represents yin and yang and depending on how they fall they are arranged accordingly. After six tosses the six trigrams forms a hexagonal shape from which a reading can be made.
