Glazing refurbishment kept in the family

A Glazing maintenance company has been set up by a young father of three who decided he needed to make a fresh start after being made redundant twice in the past year.

Glazing repairs and installation company, Broadland Glass Services was set up earlier this month by 44 year old Steve Keeble from Rackheath who decided he needed to kick start his own career after a year of bad luck.

Speaking recently to The Norwich Evening News, he explained how he had been made redundant from a glazing refurbishment company earlier in the year.

Although he was offered his job back again a few months later by the same glazing repairs company, he was sadly let go once again- for the second time in one year.

Rather than let the bad situation get him down, Steve says he used it to his advantage and as a way of spurring him on to start up his own company.
Speaking to the newspaper, he said: “You’ve just got to carry on. That’s when I thought I’d work for myself.”

Although he does admit that starting and running his own company will be more than a little daunting, he is still confident he will be able to make a success of the business.

He added: “It is very frightening to start it but I’m giving it my best shot and I hope it takes off.”

Steve has been working with glazing and glass since the tender age of 16 and admits that he started thinking of the possibility of starting his own business back in the eighties.

If the business is a success and well received within the local community, he hopes his eldest son, ten year old Azure will follow him into the glazing business. His wife, Andrea may also want to get involved, he added.
