The Feature Your Diet Must Have To Be Effective!

Virtually every diet under the sun is effective in the short run. Whether you're on a Low Fat diet, or Atkins, or even a 'Twinkie Diet' (?!!) - you can lose weight over the short term. One website lists 453 different diets that they provide information on... so there are plenty of diets to chose from!

The problem that most people face is that you've been suckered by the food industry to believe that the word "diet" is a temporary condition - you go on a diet for a short period of time, and you've succeeded in losing weight.

But it doesn't work that way.

Sure, you can lose weight on any diet - but the moment you go back to the same daily routine that you did before - you'll regain the weight you lost.

You gained weight for one of two reasons - you're not eating properly, or you're not exercising enough for what you do eat. (or, conceivably, you're failing at both - you're a couch potato who likes to eat nutritional garbage!)

A diet that you use to drop weight will not keep the weight off of you - this is the 'sucker play' that the food industry has conditioned you with - you believe that you can drop the weight, and then stop the diet.

But when you think about it - you realize that this simply isn't true - if you want to drop your weight, and keep it off, you're going to have to change the way you live - either you eat properly, exercise more - or do both... for the rest of your life. If you want permanent change in your weight, you must have a permanent lifestyle change.

So the essential feature that any diet must have is the ability for you to stay on that diet for the rest of your life. This pretty much eliminates the 'Cabbage Soup' diet, or the 'Twinkie' diet - in fact, this requirement pretty much eliminates most diets. Take a look at a potential diet - can you imagine yourself eating the same diet for the rest of your life?

My own personal preference has been for the Atkin's diet - complete elimination of sugar & wheat - although I must confess to an occasional slice of low carb bread. I've been on this diet for several years now - and realize that I'll be eating this way until the day I die - if I want to keep the weight off.

All diets will work temporarily - but will your diet work for you the rest of your life?
