Build Your Own Bike

One of the great things about owning a BMX is how customisable they are. With so much potential with what can be done with them, everyone will want different sizes and different accessories on their bike. So if you want a bike that is perfect for what you want to achieve with it, the best way to go about it is to build your own.

Building a BMX is fairly easy; the hard part comes in choosing the right extras and components that will be right for you. The best place to start is by buying a cheap BMX with the right size frame, preferably one that is lightweight to mean you can do all you want to do with the bike when you get it on the road.

The next step is to choose the right size tires and rims for you. Always ensure they are a minimum of 20 inches in diameter though or they may well not be able to take the stress of tricks or races. For those racing, the fewer the spokes the better, whilst for those doing intense tricks you will want as many as possible. Also the type of tyre will be different depending on where you ride – for racing you will most likely want plenty of tread whilst for ramp riding, the slicker the better.

Next you will need to look online to decide the best company to buy the speciality parts you will need to make the bike your own. Ensure you do thorough research into the types of extras that will help you get exactly what you want from the bike. The items you choose should depend totally on how and where you want to ride it, so be sure you fully understand what each part will offer before you buy.

So with just a cheap BMX and some ingenuity you could soon have the perfect bike for you.
